GB

GB is the abbreviation for Gigabyte, which equals 1024 Megabytes.

GeForce

Geforce, GeForce 2, 3 and 4, is a GPU developed by Nvidia. A GPU - Graphic processing unit - is a processor that is specifically designed to sit on a graphics card. New computer games require a lot of graphical power, which means the processor on your computer isn't sufficient enough, so it must also be processed by a graphics chip.

GHz

Abbreviation for Gigahertz. 1 gigahertz is one billion cycles per second.

GPRS

GPRS stands for "General Packet Radio Service" and is a mobile/wireless service available on some mobile phones. GPRS sends information in "packets" - that quickly finds the vacant "holes" that occur in mobile traffic. GPRS means that the mobile phone may be connected to the web all the time. GPRS is faster and more economical to use because you pay for the amount of information transmitted and not for the time the phone is connected. One can get data transmission up to 384 Kbps.

GPS

Global Positioning System is a navigation system used both by the military and general public to find locations accurately. Radio signals are sent via international GPS satellites. The system was developed and established by the US military. GPS systems for the general public has an accuracy of +/-100 meters and is mainly used for navigation by car and boat.

GSM

GSM means Global System for Mobile Communication. GSM replaced NMT network on second-generation mobile networks in Europe.
