More Information and Detailed Specifications
EOS 60Da is ideal for photographing astronomical phenomena that diffuse nebula - a favorite among astrophotographers because of the clear red color due to the ionization of hydrogen. A standard digital SLR restricts the infrared filter amount of Ha-light reaching the camera's sensor. EOS 60, however, has a new, modified filter that provides three times the transparency of Ha-light, combined with a 18MP CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 processing and high ISO range that ensures crisp, clear images.
High resolution, high sensitivity and low noise
EOS 60Da provides astrophotographers advanced performance and creative flexibility. The camera's 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor is ideal for capturing the detail in the stars. Advanced performance and high ISO speeds of up to ISO 6400 (expandable to ISO 12800) ensures low noise images, reducing the need for longer exposures and socketed with star tracking. Combined with a powerful 14-bit DIGIC 4 processor, the sensor has also an excellent signal / noise ratio on the final image results and delivers images with rich, natural colors with smooth color gradations - ideal for capturing the subtle color transitions in interstellar gas clouds.
EOS 60Da has the same advanced ergonomics that characterize the EOS 60D. Rounded edges and easily accessible buttons and functions that ensure optimal control. The controls can be easily adjusted and redefined to suit the user's needs, and an LCD screen with backlit display on the top provides additional flexibility and the ability to monitor and adjust image parameters during shooting. A dedicated Quick Control button provides quick and convenient access to all the camera settings during shooting.
EOS 60 Da also has a 7.7 cm (3.0") vari-wide LCD screen that supports Live View - ideal for composing images using a camera tripod. The vari-angle lens has hinges that provide additional flexibility, while Live View mode provides convenient and precise control - allowing the photographer to tweak both composition and camera settings. The LCD monitor has 1040k dot resolution that provides exceptional detail on the screen during and after shooting.
To ensure greater flexibility, the EOS 60Da is compatible with Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3 (optional) - a programmable remote control which allows you to adjust the settings without disturbing the camera position. TC 80N3¹ provides the flexibility to remotely control your photography with custom intervals or create exposure over long periods of time, and is therefore ideal for interval recording of a night sky. An accompanying ACK-E6 AC Adapter provides continuous recording with the mains - ideal for long exposures - and EOS Utility software makes it possible to control settings or view image composition on a PC or Mac connected via USB, while shooting.
As part of the EOS system, the EOS 60Da also has compatible with the world's most extensive range of interchangeable lenses from 8mm to 800mm - giving astro photographer both power and exceptional creative possibilities.
