Router manufacturer Netgear has introduced a new Nighthawk Series called the Pro Gaming XR700 WiFi Router, which according to the company offers a premium experience for online gamers.
The XR700 runs on DumaOS, a Linux-based operating system dedicated to routers. It provides advanced gaming features, adaptability and higher gaming performance. There's also a intuitive and interactive Gaming Dashboard, which shows how much bandwidth each device in your home is using, ping response and many other real-time parameters.
Geo Filter is another feature that can limit the geographic distance of game servers or other online players. It can guarantee a local connection and establish black and white lists of servers. With Network Monitor, the network can search for devices that tap the bandwidth and identify applications that may be the cause of any online delay. In addition, there is a built-in Plex media server for streaming contents.
It's pretty impressive on the hardware side with a four-core processor, six gigabit ports and a ten gigabit port. It has Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO and support for 802.11ad, which in layman's terms is a 60-gigahertz band wireless network, and active antennas. In addition, there are two USB 3.0 ports for connecting USB devices.
Your gonna need deep pockets If you want to purchase this Router, with a RRP of £449.
